Hi. I’m Katie.

This letter is about mental health, mental health struggles, and things we can do to make our lives a little easier.

Each letter, I talk about something I’ve learned—managing anxiety, struggles with self-worth and overwork, finding acceptance as a neurodivergent mom—and I share ways you can use what I learned in your life, too.

Who am I?

I’m a bipolar-autistic author, professor, and speaker. I write novels and nonfiction books that center neurodiversity (autism, PTSD, addiction…all of the things), and I give talks about mental health and neurodiversity at universities all over the country.

I live in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, with my two kids, my spouse, two horses, and many adopted pets.

Thank you for inviting me into your life. (I mean your inbox, but that’s a really personal place these days.)

A note on Substack’s subscription fee: I do have a subscription rate for my newsletter, but it is donation only. You can read everything for free. If you want to donate for a subscription, I really appreciate it, but you don’t have to. I set it as low as Substack would let me.

Thanks again for subscribing.

Love to you,

Katie
